Warrant Officer Class 1 Jackson E. Cooper Branch: COG Navy, NAVSOC, temporarily reassigned to COGN Research and Development Special Equipment: Stealth Armor (passive/active camoflauge), custom suppressed Hammerburst, telescoping kinetic knife.
During Operation Island Storm, WO2 Cooper is one of the first NAVSOC operators to parachute jump onto a discreet location on Azura as part of a small team assigned to temporarily disable the maelstrom (and allow an amphibious assault to take place) by hacking a remote power terminal on the island without compromising the island defenses. Cooper is blown off course by residual winds and left to fend for himself when he lands over a dozen klicks away from the intended LZ. The others, a sniper team and electronics expert, land as intended and are forced to begin without him, due to mission time constraints.
WO1 Cooper's time in COGN R&D was spent testing cloaking devices - however the onset of the war and budget shortages forced the cancellation of the project before mass production of stealth armor could be finalized. Regardless, only highly trained personnel are qualified to wear the armor. Even with active cloaking, the operator must demonstrate superior noise discipline when infiltrating enemy positions. In addition, spatter from blood, mud, or any other adhesive debris will limit effectiveness of the cloaking system until it is rinsed off.
The Stealth Armor is powered by an enriched Imulsion powerpack attached to his gear. However, this limits his loadout to strictly his primary weapon, sidearm, and knife - no grenades, shotgun, or secondary rifle. The Stealth Armor provides passive cloaking by using light sensitive cells that respond to nearby changes in the environment. However, active cloaking can be activated, distorting light around the armor, effectively fading the profile of the operator from view.
The kinetic blade is issued only to operators who have received extensive close quarters combat training. Equipped with an Imulsion core, a pull of the trigger will send a high freqency vibration down the edge, allowing it to pierce through armor with ease. The trigger cannot be accidentally engaged when sheathed, since there is a grip safety. In addition, the blade is telescoped - by default it is 8 inches in length, but activating the extension will add another 4 inches. As a result of the complex engineering involved, there are limitations to its use - lateral stress on the blade will damage it, thus prying with it is not recommended.
Awesome dude!
well done, cheers!!!
